These were the meat and egg chicken of the industry - before the 'steroid/hormone' chicken they have now.  Lays a nice large brown egg - lots of them - did I say lots? Very friendly, easy keeper.

Fairly easy to sex in the first couple of days they hatch - the roosters have a black spot on the top of their head. This will fade in a couple of days though so separate them quickly.

They will start laying about 4 1/2 months. Roosters will get 7 - 8 pounds.  Excess roos can go to the freezer about 5 - 6 months.
